Goertek’s main focus consists of R&D, production and sales of electro-acoustic components, electro-optical components and consumer electronics products. Goertek provides “Design+Manufacturing” products and services to industry leading companies, including, Microsoft, Amazon, Google, Facebook, Plantronics, Samsung, LG, Sony, Huawei, Xiaomi and so on.
Goertek has been listed on the 2016 annual honor roll of the fabulous 50 best of Asia-Pacific’s biggest publicly traded companies. Goertek placed 19th on the list of Forbes “Asia’s Fab50”, after debuting last year in March the collaboration with Qualcomm to produce the
Wily Wang (王喆) received his B.Eng. and M.Eng. in Mechanical Engineering from Shanghai Jiao Tong University in 1984 and 1987 respectively. From 1987-1993, he was a Lecturer at Dept. of Mechanical Engineering of Sichuan University, China. In 1996, he obtained his Ph.D degree from Nanyang Technological University in Singapore.
From 1996 to 2004, Dr. Wang was working with Institute of Microelectronics (IME) in Singapore as a research scientist in MEMS research and development. He was a project leader responsible for various MEMS research projects including pressure sensor, gyroscope, microphones, resonator, etc. His research work had led him to the successes in achieving the world’s first mass-producible silicon microphone and an ultra highest sensitive silicon microphone. From 2004 to 2010, Dr. Wang founded Silicon Matrix Pte Ltd endeavoring to development and promotion of MEMS microphone.
In 2010, Dr. Wang joined GoerTek Inc as Vice President for MEMS Technology. He has helped the company to grow its MEMS Microphone business with annual growth rate of 284% from 2010 till now. Since 2016, he has been working as VP of Technology, responsible for technical marketing for company-wide products, hunting for cutting-edge technologies as well as establishing university collaborations.
Dr. Wang is an inventor of 84 international patents. He has also published 14 technical papers and was invited for keynote speech at Transducer 2015.
